The first step to knowing is Christ is making a decision to live for him. When we make a decision to live for him we have to repent of our sins. Repent means to rethink or turn around. It means if you were walking your own way you would stop, realise you were going the wrong way, turn around and turn back to God.

When we repent of our sins and make a decision to follow Jesus, we read in the Bible that followers of Jesus were baptised. It says in the Bible in Acts 2:38, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 6:3-4 NKJV says, “Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? [4] Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and lead us into all truth. It is up to us to pick up our cross and deny ourselves daily and follow him. He is the way, the truth and the life.
