Do you really know him?

The Lord spoke to me and said, “There are those that know me and those that think they know me.”

The Bible is very clear that some think they know the Lord, but on the day of judgement he will say to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!”

Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. [22] Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ [23] And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

A testimony that has gone world wide is by a guy named Howard Pittman. He thought he was faithfully serving the Lord. He was preaching, teaching and had taken many orphans into his house. By all appearances he was serving the Lord until one day he died and stood outside the gates of Heaven. He petitioned the Lord to allow him to continue living his life on earth.
